Interviewers for Fusion Financials roles test three things: whether you understand the enterprise structure, whether you have closed a period, and whether you can reconcile a subledger.
Enterprise structure - What is the relationship between a ledger, a legal entity and a business unit? - When would you use a secondary ledger rather than a reporting currency? - How does the accounting configuration drive subledger accounting?
General Ledger - Walk me through creating a Chart of Accounts from scratch. - How do cross-validation rules differ from segment value security? - What happens during Close Period, and what stops it from closing?
Payables - Explain 2-way, 3-way and 4-way matching, and when each is appropriate. - What are the common holds and how do you release them? - How do you reconcile AP to GL at period end?
Receivables - How are AutoAccounting rules configured? - Explain the receipt application process and unapplied receipts.
Reporting - When do you reach for OTBI versus BI Publisher versus Smart View?
The pattern behind these questions: every one of them can be answered from configuration you have actually done. Rehearsed definitions are obvious to an experienced interviewer within two follow-up questions.
